A Turkish state minister said on Tuesday that they aimed to boost trade volume between Turkey and Syria to 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2009.
State Minister Kursad Tuzmen, who is visiting Syrian capital of Damascus with a 200-member delegation, had a meeting with Syrian Economy & Trade Minister Amir Husni Lutfi.
Tuzmen said there had been a great improvement in trade volume figure between the two countries in the recent years.
"We are pleased with investments by Syrian businessmen in Turkey. We will probably put forth an aim of 5 billion U.S. dollars between Turkey and Syria within the next three years," he said.
