Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said on Friday that Turkey has been evaluating Yemen's proposal for a compromise in Palestine.

In an exclusive interview with Qatar's Al-Jazeera television, Babacan said, "Yemen's foreign minister had sent me a letter 10 days ago including their proposals on compromise process. The letter said this compromise could be reached under the leadership of Egypt, Syria and Turkey and with the support of other countries. Turkey has assessed this proposal."

Yemeni administration attempted to mediate between Hamas nad Fatah in Palestine, inviting Turkey, Egypt and Syria to the process,

Political leader of Hamas in Syria will visit Yemen to talks officials on Yemen initiative.

Turkey, long before the eruption of clashes in the region, had warned that situation in the Middle East might get worse, "unfortunately, a human tragedy was experienced in Gaza," Babacan noted.

Recalling Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's tour to the region, Babacan said, "Turkey has launched intensive efforts for a cease-fire in the region."

Babacan said Turkey sent delegations to Cairo, Damascus and Tel Aviv to assess details of a probable cease-fire and talked to all parties. He said, "cease-fire is only a start, it should be continuous. Turkey continues to be in contact with all related parties."

Foreign Minister Babacan urged blockade in Gaza to end soon for normalization of passage of people and goods.

"Turkey considered the matter in humanitarian sense and elevated its voice against the developments. We could not remain silent against killing of children and women," he said.

In the new reconciliation plan in Palestine by Yemen, there are three conditions:

1. Six-month national government will be established.

2. Temporary governmnet will provide Palestinian presidency and parliamentary elections.

3. Security powers will be reformed and strengthened according to law under the national unity window, far from any factionalit approach.
