Turkey's Istanbul Municipality has cancelled official New Year's Eve celebrations in Taksim square amid Israel violence that killed so far more than 300 Palestinians in Gaza.

Turkey's Istanbul Municipality has cancelled official New Year's Eve celebrations in Taksim square amid Israel violence that killed so far more than 300 Palestinians in Gaza.

Istanbul Municipality was planning on organizing concerts and entertainment in the Taksim square in Istanbul but these have been cancelled because of the Israeli attacks in Gaza.

Turkish leaders condemned Israeli violence.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said "over the weekend Israel's air strikes was a blow against peace."
