Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said the coal mine in Mustafakemalpasa town of north-western province of Bursa --site of an explosion which killed 19 workers-- was shut down for six months.

The explosion in 220 metres below the surface, which was caused by ignition of built up firedamp claimed lives of 19 workers on Friday.

Bodies of all victims were recovered after intense efforts.
