Turkey condemns arson attack on diplomatic vehicles in Athens

Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Monday condemned the arson attack on cars belonging to staff of the Turkish diplomatic missions in Greece.

According to a MFA statement, two cars, belonging to two staff of Turkish Embassy in Athens and Piraeus Consulate General, were burned at around 01:00 a.m.

Expressing regret over the incident, the MFA statement said, "Turkish Embassy in Athens launches necessary initiatives with Greek Foreign Ministry and other related institutions."

The statement also said number of vehicles, belonging to Turkish diplomats, burned in arson attacks or damaged in the past 1.5 years reached 6.

"Turkey expects Greek authorities to find perpetrators of the attacks soon and ensure life and property safety of Turkish staff assigned in Greece."
