Turkey, Croatia plan to boost cooperation in defense industry

Speaking after a meeting with his Croatian counterpart Branko Vukelic in Ankara, Gonul said Turkey and Croatia arranged their defense policies on the same side and continued to negotiate with the EU.

"The minister's visit will enable us to assess fields on which we can cooperate in defense industry," Gonul said.

Vucelic in his part said Turkey and Croatia were two friendly countries, and they supported each other during the EU membership process.

He said Croatia was engaged with implementing all the standards which a NATO member was obliged to do, and noted that he hoped to get some clues that Turkey would approve Croatia's NATO membership.

Vukelic also said his country aimed to boost cooperation with Turkey in defense industry.
