Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its concern over attacks in Kirkuk province of Iraq and called on Iraqi security authorities to take necessary measures, a statement said on Monday.
Releasing a statement, the ministry said a suicide blast that took place during a protest in Kirkuk on Monday morning killed at least 15 Iraqi people and injured more than 35.
"We offer condolences to families of our Iraqi friends who died in this terrorist attack and wish quick recovery to those who were injured," it said.
Iraqi security officials should take necessary measures against such acts which aimed at damaging the atmosphere of compromise and dialogue which has been tried to be secured in Kirkuk, the statement said.
"We expect the people in Kirkuk to act commonsensibly towards these provocative actions which aim at damaging tranquility and stability not only in Kirkuk but also in Iraq and whole region," the statement added.
