Turkey, Georgia and Azarbaijan signed a MoU for the construction of an energy bridge between the three countries, announced Georgia's Ministry of Energy on Friday.
The ministry said the MoU was signed by officials of Azarenerji, Georgia State energy Network, Turkey's Electric Distribution Company (TEIAS) and US Energy Association in Tbilisi.
According to the MoU, the three countries will discuss their energy policies and develop new models for high voltage networks. Under the MoU, initially, the high voltage networks in these countries will be examined and investments necessary for electricity trade and exchange will be determined.
The energy bridge project between the three countries is a joint initiative which will be financed by U.S. Agency for International Development.
