Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Saturday that "Turkey is not merely going through an economic restoration but an economic re-construction."

Turkey going through an economic re-construction: Erdogan
Prime Minister Erdogan inaugurated the new facilities at the Cilvegozu Border Pass that connects Turkey with Syria.

Speaking at the inauguration, Erdogan noted that "Turkey has become an economy that is shock-proof against domestic and international crises and that is preferred by investors due to its stability."

"Turkey's foreign trade volume reached 270 billion USD. When one considers that most of Turkey's trade is made through highways, the modernization of border passes can be better understood," Erdogan stressed.

"After a long period of time, Turkey gained the chance to re-activate the Silk Road," Erdogan added.
