Indian companies dealing with ship construction and renewable energy had expressed their will to invest in Turkey, officials said.

Turkey is expected to receive new investments thanks to the deals made by Turkish and Indian businessmen within the scope of the Turkish president's recent visit to India.

Three direct investment agreements were signed by Turkish and Indian entrepreneurs during Turkish President Abdullah Gul's formal visit to India, officials with the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey said on Monday.

The agreements would bring Turkey direct investments of nearly 150 million USD, providing employment opportunities for 200 people, officials said.

Indian companies dealing with ship construction and renewable energy had expressed their will to invest in Turkey, officials added.

Moreover, Investment Support and Promotion Agency's India representative Ravi Chaudry said that nearly 50 Indian companies, mainly interested in mining, infrastructure, agriculture, irrigation, textile and jewelry sectors, were eager to make investments in Turkey at the moment.
