Turkey hopes to reach peak year in exports in next years

Turkey's exports will reach 9 billion USD in December.

State Minister Zafer Caglayan said at a meeting hosted by Central Anatolia Exporters' Association, "our exports will reach 9 billion USD in December. We hope that year-end exports will exceed 100 billion USD."

"Increase in exports means growing of Turkish industry, development of economy and decrease of unemployment. We reached the highest level in our history with exports of 132 billion USD in 2008. This year, there was a decline in exports as a result of the global financial crisis. But we succeeded in reaching our year-end exports target of 100 billion USD," he said.

"2010 will be the year to heal the impacts of the crisis. We can reach the exports level of 2008 within two or three years. Turkey will regain its performance in 2008 after 2011," Caglayan added.
