Speaking at a meeting with Kankeiren business delegation from Japan's Kankeiren region, Tuzmen recalled that Turkey was ranked the 5th among OECD countries in exports increase.
Tuzmen said Japanese foreign trade volume exceeds 1 trillion USD, noting that Turkey's foreign trade volume was 270 billion USD, "actual commercial relations between Turkey and Japan are extremely low."
Indicating that there was 20 billion USD foreign capital inflow to Turkey in 2006, Tuzmen said Turkey could serve as an important production and distribution base for Japanese companies.
Tuzmen also said Japan could provide an important amount of foreign capital inflow to Turkey with new investments in areas like construction, electronics, energy, waste water and environment.
Turkish minister said he would pay a visit to Japan in January, "I will have talks on economic and commercial relations," he noted.
Kansai Economic Federation Executive Board President Masayumi Matsushita said they were closely interested in Turkey as a very rapidly growing market.
Matsushita said they wanted to learn Turkey's economy policies, investment development policy, foreign capital policy and negotiation process with the EU.

Turkey ideal center for Japan: Minister
Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Thursday that Turkey was an ideal center for Japan to access Middle East, Eurasia, Europe and Africa.
