Turkish energy minister said Sunday that his country was an integral party of the European Union's energy security.
"In 2007 world's oil demand increased by 1 million barrel a day, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline can meet the increase on its own. This is a solid proof for Turkey's contribution to the world energy security," Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler told the AA on the sidelines of a summit in Croatia.
Guler said efforts were underway on a pipeline project to carry Arab gas to Europe, adding that agreements between governments on the Nabucco project would be signed soon.
The Turkish energy minister also said that Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha asked during a bilateral meeting for gas over the Shahdeniz pipeline, which passes through Turkey.
