Turkey, Iran energy ministers hold press con.

"Our goal is to establish a system which is based on reciprocity of mutual rights and which protects both of the parties and at the same time the customers," said Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler on Sunday, regarding the cooperation to be established between Turkey and Iran on energy issue.

Guler, who is currently in Iran on a formal visit, met Acting Petroleum Minister of Iran Gulam Hussein Nozeri in capital Tehran.

After the 1.5-hour meeting, the two ministers held a joint press conference.

Guler indicated that the talks they held in Tehran were the ongoing steps of the process which started in Turkish capital of Ankara.

Meanwhile, Nozeri stated that they discussed about the operation of 22nd, 23rd and 24th phases of South Pars Natural Gas Field by Turkey during the talks, adding that Turkey would make investments within the framework of international agreements.

Nozeri also stressed that Turkey has permitted Iran to use its territory for the transfer of Iranian gas to Europe, while Iran approved the Turkmen gas to be carried from Iranian territory to Turkey.

Noting that they would give 20 percent of the natural gas production in the 3 phases of South Pars Natural Gas Field to Turkey, Nozeri said, "our Turkish brothers will not face any problems concerning natural gas issue during the winter period".
