Turkish FM Davutoglu arrived in Iran for a two day trip upon an invitation by his Iranian counterpart Mottaki.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu arrived in Ankara on Friday and is on his way to Iran for a two day trip upon an invitation by his Iranian counterpart Manuchehr Mottaki.

Speaking to reporters prior to his departure from Ankara's Esenboga International Airport, Davutoglu said that Iran is a friendly and neighboring country with which Turkey has deep cooperation in many areas.

We have relations from economy to energy, transportation to common security with Iran. We will have an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations, Davutoglu said.

Reminding his recent visits to the Middle Eastern region, Davutoglu said that the Iranian authorities and he will evaluate the recent developments in the region.

Turkey and Iran have common areas of interest such as the Middle East, Caucasus, Afghanistan and Central Asia and we will talk about these topics, Davutoglu said.

Iran's nuclear program will be discussed during my talks with Iranian authorities, Davutoglu also said.

Davutoglu will be received by Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad and Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majles) Ali Ardeshir-Larijani.
