The Turkish parliament speaker had a meeting with the chairman of the Kazakh parliament in Astana on Monday.

Turkey's Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan met Oral Muhamedjanov, the chairman of the Kazakh parliament, in the Kazakh capital of Astana.

Toptan said also said that two countries could find common steps or initiatives against global economic crisis.

During the meeting, Muhamedjanov said Kazakhstan saw Turkey as a partner in international and regional arena, and it would be beneficial to establish the permanent secretariat of the Turkish speaking countries heads of state summit.

Muhamedjanov also said that forming a parliamentary assembly among Turkish speaking countries would enhance relations, and thanked for Turkey's support for Kazakhstan's initiatives to boost cooperation in security of Asia.

Also speaking in the meeting, Toptan referred to serious financial crisis in the world.

"However, I think it is possible for countries like Turkey and Kazakhstan which have development potential to seize opportunities and get out of this crisis," Toptan said.

Earlier, Toptan met Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the speaker of the Kazakh Senate.
