Turkey launches initiatives to prevent pro-PKK TVs: FM

Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan has said that they had launched all necessary initiatives to prevent TV broadcast of PKK abroad.

In response to a question motion submitted to the parliament by Osman Cakir, a deputy of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Babacan said, "activities of the ROJ TV, broadcasting organ of the PKK, and the VITO TV Production company were banned in Germany in 2008."

"Britain cancelled the broadcast licence of the MED TV of the terrorist organization in 1999 and France cancelled the licence of the MEDYA TV. We have been launching all necessary initiatives in relevant countries to ban propaganda activities of the PKK," he said.

Babacan added, "Danish Radio and TV Board has initiated a process as a result of Turkey's efforts to put an end to broadcast of the ROJ TV since 2004. Turkey has sent all kinds of information and document to the Danish authorities through the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen."
