'Turkey may complete IMF deal before May 10th'

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Thursday the fund and Turkey decided to continue negotiations to complete the current stand-by deal with success before May 10th.

Turkey's State Minister Mehmet Simsek for Treasury had a meeting with IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.

In their meeting, Simsek briefed Kahn on recent economic developments in Turkey and Turkish economy's outlook, an IMF executive told the AA correspondent.

The IMF executive said Simsek and Kahn agreed to go on talks between Turkish authorities and IMF in order to complete the stand-by arrangement with success before the deal expires on May 10th.
