Turkey opens state bank branch in Greece's Gumulcine
Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Nazim Ekren, inaugurated a branch of Ziraat Bankasi in Gumulcine (Komotini), Greece on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ekren said that Ziraat Bankasi's branches in Athens and Komotini will benefit the peoples, citizens and companies of both Turkey and Greece.
We pay high attention to our relations with Greece, Ekren stressed.
"Turkey's trade volume with Greece reached 3.5 billion USD in 2008. The share of Greek investors in the Turkish banking sector and Ziraat Bankasi's branches in Greece are an indication of the healthy economic relations with Greece," Ekren said.
Director General of the Ziraat Bankasi, Can Akin Caglar, said that Ziraat Bankasi is in Greece to contribute to the cooperation between Turkey and Greeece.
Ziraat Bankasi was founded 145 years ago. It is a state run bank of Turkey.
