Turkey permanently to host D-8 Secretariat in Istanbul

Turkey and the Developing Eight (D-8) Secretariat in Istanbul will sign a "Headquarters Agreement" in Ankara on Friday.

The agreement will be signed at 16.30 hours on Friday and the signature ceremony will be attended by diplomats from the D-8 member countries.

With the agreement, the Secretariat of the Developing Eight would permanently settle in Istanbul. The agreement carries legal status about the mission and activities of the Secretariat.

D-8 is a group of developing countries that have formed an economic development alliance in 1997, consisting of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
