Turkey ranks 39th in W.Bank's logistics performance index

Turkey ranked 39th among 155 countries in the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index, an assessment of the performance of countries in the areas of customs, transportation, and infrastructure.

LPI which is published under the "Connecting to Compete:Trade Logistics in the Global Economy" report for 2010 is a multidimensional assessment of logistics performance, rated on a scale from one (worst) to five (best) and uses more than 5,000 individual country assessments made by nearly 1,000 international freight forwarders to compare the trade logistics profiles of 155 countries.

The performance assessment is based on expanded information on the time, cost, and reliability of import and export supply chains, infrastructure quality, performance of core services, and the friendliness of trade clearance procedures.

Germany ranked highest in the index with 4.11 pts with a performance of 100%, followed by Singapore in second place with 4.09 pts and 99.2, and Sweden in third place with 4.08 pts and 98.8%.
