Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said on Thursday he considered that if all issues between Israel and Hamas were negotiated in a comprehensive way, the parties could reach an outcome much earlier.
Babacan, who is holding talks in Bahrain, replied to questions of correspondents on several matters.
Blockade on Gaza must be lifted and necessary security measures should be taken at border crossings, Babacan said.
Issues (between Israel and Hamas) should not be negotiated one by one and at different platforms, but they should be negotiated under a whole frame, he said. Turkey wanted problems to be solved as soon as possible and the parties should reach a basis for a long-term truce, he said.
Babacan said Turkey attached a great importance to this process and it was exerting efforts for it.
During his talks in Manama, Babacan was received by the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa and attended luncheon hosted by his counterpart Sheik Khalid bin Ahmad al-Khalifa.
