Turkey says set up export desks for 4 states

Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan, who is currently in Paris to hold a series of talks, said on Wednesday that Turkish industrialists and exporters drew lessons from all crises.

Speaking to reporters following a reception hosted by the Turkish embassy in Paris, Caglayan said the recent global economic crisis showed exporters that the world was not composed of only certain locations and that there were lots of countries to sell products.

Caglayan said Turkey was among the countries which had overcome the global crisis with minimum loss.

Minister Caglayan also said that Turkey aimed to become one of the top 10 economies of the world, moreover, it desired to increase its exports to 500 billion USD and its foreign trade to 1 trillion USD by the year 2023.

He said his ministry worked in a determined way to achieve such goals.

Pointing to the reasons hindering Turkey's exports to certain countries, Caglayan said lack of information about those countries and Turkey's insufficient self-introduction were the main reasons causing such problem.

"We have created 33 country desks. We are examining especially 4 of them in the basis of states. These countries are USA, China, Canada and Germany," he said.
