Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan departed from Turkey on Monday for a four-day tour of Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Babacan is set to visit Kosovo on Tuesday and Wednesday and then will proceed to Bosnia-Herzegovina on January 15-16.

Speaking to reporters prior to his departure from Ankara's Esenboga International Airport, Babacan stressed that Turkey pays high importance to the development and stability of Kosovo that declared its independence in 2008.

Turkey appreciates Kosovo's efforts to facilitate regional peace, Babacan said.

Touching on Turkish-Bosnian relations, Babacan said that Turkey gives high attention to developing relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina with which it has historical relations.

We will give priority to developing economic relations with Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Babacan said.

I am being accompanied by a large delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs and will attend meetings of business councils in both countries, Babacan said.

Asked if a cease-fire would be declared in Gaza, Babacan said that the cease-fire must take place between Israel and Hamas.
