Turkish government will soon make public a package of measures designed to avoid global economic slump, State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Nazim Ekren said on Wednesday.

At an international conference on "Turkey: A Safe Harbor for Investors" held in Istanbul, Ekren said that economy officials were still working on the package of measures that has four components.

Ekren listed these components as financing and loans, tax, employment and unemployment, and sectoral measures.

On Monday, government submitted to parliament a draft legislation that would bring tax relief in landline and wireless internet services to 5 percent from 15 percent and remove tax and traffic fines on 30-year-old or older motor vehicles if they are scrapped until the end of 2009.

The draft legislation also extends to six months from three the period over which the state-run Unemployment Fund can be used to supplement wages at companies that have reduced the number of operating days.
