Turkey and Syria have affirmed that they would maintain their cooperation in the fight against all kinds of terrorist organizations.
Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay met his Syrian counterpart Basam Abd al-Majid, who is currently paying an official visit to Turkey.
During the meeting, Atalay and his guest highlighted importance of exchange of information in the fight against terrorism, and agreed to further develop cooperation between Turkish and Syrian security departments to this end.
The parties also agreed to further develop their cooperation in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and illegal migration. Accordingly, both Turkey and Syria will take more tangible measures at the border crossings to prevent acts of terror, illicit drug trafficking and human smuggling.
Meanwhile, it was decided during the meeting that Turkish security officials would train their Syrian counterparts on several issues.
