Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said Thursday the government had taken necessary measures against the fallout from a global financial malady.
"We have been taking all necessary measures against the crisis, but unless it is over all around the world, it won't come to an end in Turkey neither," Unakitan told a press briefing upon his return from the U.S. where he underwent a by-pass surgery.
"The world economy is sick now and it has no chance to get well in a by-pass surgery. We need to fix another cure," he said.
Unakitan had left for the U.S. together with his family on February 10, and underwent a surgery at Cleveland Clinic on February 16.
