Turkey thanks Estonia over support to chapter opening
Turkey's EU negotiator received the Estonian foreign minister.
Turkey's European Union (EU) negotiator received on Friday the Estonian foreign minister.
Turkey's State Minister and chief negotiator for EU Egemen Bagis had a meeting with Estonia's Foreign Minister Urmas Paet at the Secretariat General for the EU in Ankara.
During the meeting, Bagis thanked Paet for Estonia's friendship and support to Turkey's EU membership bid.
"Turkey is preparing to open a new chapter for negotiations on Monday," he said.
Bagis named the chapter to be opened for negotiations as environment, and said also thanked for Estonia's support for opening of the mentioned chapter.
Also, Paet said Turkey and Estonia had many common interests, and energy was so important for EU's security.
Paet expressed pleasure with the positive change in Turkey in many areas.
Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet arrived in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Thursday.
Earlier on Friday, Paet met Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
