Defense ministers of 26 countries that are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will convene in the Polish city of Krakow on Wednesday.
Turkey will be represented by National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul at the gathering.
During the two-day meeting, ministers will discuss issues such as the defense planning of the alliance, various military operations and nuclear planning.
Developments in the Caucasus region, relations with Moscow, the situation in Afghanistan, NATO's military modernization process and budget contributions of the allies will be on the agenda of the meeting as well.
The ministers will also work on the "Declaration on Alliance Security" that will be released during the "NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government" to be held in Baden-Baden and Kehl, Germany, and in Strasbourg, France on April 3-4.
