Turkey to be theme country of Swedish film festival
"Turkish film is full of vitality," an announcement aired on the festival's web-site said.
Turkey will be the "theme country" of a film festival to be held in the Swedish city of Gothenburg.
A total of 10 Turkish movies will be screened at the "32nd Goteborg International Film Festival" that will take place between January 23 and February 2.
"Sonbahar (Autumn)" by Ozcan Alper, "NOKTA (DOT)" by Dervis Zaim, "Havar" by Mehmet Guleryuz, "Sut (Milk)" by Semih Kaplanoglu, "Gitmek (My Marlon and Brando)" by Huseyin Karabey, a documentary titled "On the Way to School" by Ozgur Dogan, "Pandoranin Kutusu (Pandora's Box)" by Yesim Ustaoglu, "Tatil Kitabi (Summer Book)" by Seyfi Teoman and "Uc Maymun (Three Monkeys)" by Nuri Bilge Ceylan are some of the movies to be displayed within the framework of the festival.
"Turkish film is full of vitality. The country produced the impressive sum of 40 films in 2007," an announcement aired on the festival's web-site said.
The announcement also pointed to the award-winning Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan, describing him as "one of the most interesting directors of Europe".
