Turkish government would begin implementing regional incentives in 2009, state minister said on Sunday.
Speaking at a meeting organized by the Confederation of Young Turkish Businessmen in eastern province of Bitlis, Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek said the government has been working to eliminate inequality in income distribution.
Incentive system worked in some provinces, but it did not cause a desired economic activity especially in eastern and southeastern provinces, Simsek said. "We will implement regional incentives in 2009," he stated.
