Turkey to invest more in geothermal energy, says minister
Turkish energy minister said Monday his country would invest more in geothermal energy as part of a planned 120 billion USD investment portfolio by 2020.

"Around 120 billion USD will be invested by 2020 in energy sector in Turkey and geothermal energy will have a substantial share of that," Hilmi Guler told news reporters before the opening of an international geothermal energy workshop in Istanbul.

Guler said the government introduced new legislation on renewable energy resources, calling on private investors to take advantage of the country's geothermal potential, which he said was the greatest of Europe.
