Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc (TUSAS), which became one of the leading defense companies in the world, have undertaken the modernization of F-16 war planes of the Jordanian Royal Air Forces under a defense agreement signed between the two countries in 2005.

The first plane will be handed over to Jordan in October after being modernized in Turkey.

Under the agreement, TUSAS will modernize 17 planes of the Jordanian Royal Air Forces within the next 41 months.

The first 12 planes will be modernized at TUSAS' facilities in Ankara while the remaining five will be renovated in Jordan under the surveillance of Turkish engineers.
