Turkey to soon open consulate in Indian Hyderabad
Turkey will soon establish its consulate in the Southern Indian city of Hyderabad, following approval by the Indian government, KUNA reported.

The Andhra Pradesh government would provide all facilities to build the consulate, a government official told Indo Asian News Service at Hyderabad Thursday.

Hyderabad is the capital of the Southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Turkey had sought to set up its consulate in Hyderabad to boost its trade relations with Andhra Pradesh and the city in particular, the official said.

Iran has already established its consulate in Hyderabad. The US consulate in the city will be operational by year-end. Saudi Arabia has also sought permission to set up a consulate in Hyderabad, which has emerged as one of India's IT hubs. UK has a trade office in the city and Canada will soon set up its trade office.

Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia have historical and traditional relations with Hyderabad, the news agency said.
