The summer time practice will begin in Turkey on March 29.

Clocks will wind forward by one hour at 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, also the date when Turkey is scheduled to hold its local elections.

The relevant decision of the Council of Ministers came into effect after being published in Saturday's Official Gazette.

Through summer time practice, daylight will be used more while electricity energy will be spent less.

The daylight saving practice will end on October 25.
