Turkey's Babacan addresses at G20 meeting
Turkish State Minister and Deputy PM Babacan said that protectionism is not the way to overcome the global financial crisis.
Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said Saturday that protectionism is not the way to overcome the global financial crisis.
Speaking at a meeting of G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors in London, Babacan stressed the role of regulations in overcoming the global financial crisis.
There are two important risks facing global economic growth. The first one has to do with the possibility of increasing prices of inputs, such as oil. And, the second one has to do with unbalanced growth in different corners of the world, Babacan said.
It is important to look at the impact of an economy on the world while reviewing the quotas of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Babacan also said.
