Turkey's main secularist opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) will not attend the meeting of Socialist International.
CHP's deputy chairman Onur Oymen told AA that they would not join the meeting of Socialist International in Athens, Greece.
Oymen insisted that CHP did not have "any problem" with the organization and its principles, saying stances of several member countries and politicians about independence of jurisdiction and supremacy of law in Turkey were "different" from CHP's views.
CHP is a member of Socialist International.
Socialist International recently accused CHP of being anti-democratic in Turkey and talked a possibility of the SI expelling secularist party from the group.
