Turkey's Eker addresses EU agriculture ministers
Turkish Agriculture Minister Eker addressed a meeting of EU agriculture ministers in Sweden.
Turkish Agriculture & Rural Affairs Minister Mehdi Eker addressed on Tuesday a meeting of European Union agriculture ministers in Sweden.
Eker said during his speech that Turkey was one of the countries of the Mediterranean region which had been affected the most from global warming, adding that Turkey have been conducting research to against draught and develop new agricultural techniques.
Eker also called for cooperation in the European Union, which he said could play an important role in tackling effects of global warming.
Ministers of EU member states discussed the impacts of changing climate conditions on agriculture during the meeting.
EU member states and candidate countries participated in the meeting which was hosted by Sweden's Agriculture Minister Eskil Erlandsson between September 14 and 15.
