Exports from Turkey to the neighboring countries increased by 28.8 percent in 2008.

Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) said on Sunday that Turkey's exports to seven neighboring countries became 14.3 billion USD in 2008.

Iraq was ranked first in the list of seven neighboring countries with exports amounted to 3.9 billion USD, followed by Greece with exports of 2.4 billion USD, Bulgaria with exports of 2.1 billion USD and Iran with exports of 2 billion USD.

Turkey exported goods worth of 1.6 billion USD to Azerbaijan. Turkey's exports to Syria became 1.1 billion USD and exports to Georgia became 995.9 million USD.
