Turkish state minister said on Monday that Turkey's export rate to the United States dropped, The New Anatolian reported.
State Minister Kursad Tuzmen told reporters that the U.S. is one of the countries which Turkey imports products most, but export figure is not on the same level.
"This year, we have a decrease in export rate to the U.S.," Tuzmen said.
Minister Tuzmen is currently in Washington to attend the 27th American-Turkish Council (ATC) conference.
He said that trade volume between Turkey and the U.S. increased, but this rise stems mostly from the imports of Turkey.
Tuzmen said that the reasons of the decrease in export figure are overvalued Turkish Lira, decrease of USD value in international markets and Turkey as well as the U.S.'s making its import --especially in textile sector-- from Far East.
Tuzmen will speak in ATC conference.
