Human Rights and Freedoms (IHH) Humanitarian Aid Foundation has found Turkish families to sponsor 1,200 out of 1,500 Palestinian children who lost their parents during the Israeli offensive against Gaza.
In an interview with the A.A, Veysel Tepeli, chairman of the Humanitarian Aid Association based in southern Turkish province of Adana, said on Friday, "we launched a campaign to find sponsor families for Palestinian children who were left orphan during the Gaza conflict. We have already found families for 1,200 children. We are still searching for families to support those children by sending nearly 42 USD each month for a period of at least six months."
"Families who join our campaign, will be informed on conditions of the child they sponsor once in every six months. In the course of time, we are planning to bring those children in to introduce them with their Turkish families," he said.
Tepeli said that they also carried out similar campaigns in 30 countries including Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Kosovo, Georgia, Somalia, Ghana,Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.
"The IHH is also targeting to built an orphanage in Palestine with a fund to be raised from donations of Turkish people," he added.
