The Turkish interior minister met chief of Swiss Justice and Police Department on Friday.

Turkey's Interior Minister Besir Atalay had a meeting with Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, the chief of Swiss Justice and Police Department, in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

"We discussed cooperation in fight against terrorism," Atalay said.

Atalay underlined importance of cooperation between Turkey and European countries in countering crime-border crimes.

The Turkish minister said that Turkey was cooperating with European countries particularly in combatting illegal migration and illicit drug trafficking, and he would discuss these issues as well as fight against terrorism with Widmer-Schlumpf.

Also, Widmer-Schlumpf said that she had the opportunity to closely monitor Turkey's legal reforms, and she was impressed with those reforms.

Widmer-Schlumpf highlighted importance of cooperation in solving problems between countries, and said they would try to solve problems regarding terrorism, drug trafficking and illegal migration if there were any.
