Turkey's judicial recess beginning on August 1st

The high criminal courts, that replaced the State Security Courts (DGMs), and the military courts will not go on judicial recess.

The judicial recess is beginning on August 1st in Turkey.

During the 35-day recess, courts on duties will hear urgent cases while the other cases will be adjourned till the new judicial year.

Delegations on duties at the higher judicial bodies -the Council of State, the Court of Appeals, the Military Court of Appeals and the Military Higher Administrative Court, will continue hearing the urgent cases. They will not be able to make decisions on the merits of he cases.

The judicial recess will end on September 6th. The new judicial year will begin on September 8th with a ceremony at the Court of Appeals.
