Turkey's TIKA coordinator awarded Kyrgyzstan's medal

Kyrgyzstan's parliament decorated Dr. Tayfun Atmaca, the Bishkek Coordinator of the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA), with the "70th anniversary of the Parliament medal" for his successful contributions to Kyrgyzstan.

Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament, Zaynidin Kurmanov, presented Dr. Atmaca the medal in the parliament.

Speaking while receiving Atmaca, Kurmanov said that TIKA had made important contributions to cooperation between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan in the past 17 years.

"This is the first time that the medal has been given to an assistance institution. We will continue to support the works of TIKA in Kyrgyzstan," Kurmanov said.

TIKA is the Turkish government's development cooperation agency. TIKA has coordination offices in 20 countries and operates in many countries across Africa, Asia and Europe, delivering development assistance to partner countries through its projects and activities.
