Turkey's tourism revenues were up in the first quarter of 2008, the statistics board announced on Tuesday.
Turkey's Board of Statistics (TUIK) released tourism revenue and expenditure figures in the first quarter of 2008, and said that Turkey's tourism revenues were up 25.9 percent in the second quarter of 2008, covering April, May and June, over the same period of the previous year.
Accordingly, Turkey earned 4.6 billion USD from tourism between April and June 2008.
The highest tourism revenue was acquired in June. Turkey obtained 1.9 billion USD from tourism in June.
Also, foreigners spent 579 USD per capita in the same period.
