Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim met with representatives of several German companies on Tuesday over a working dinner hosted by Germany's ambassador in Ankara.
The meeting aimed at developing ways to improve cooperation as well as trade and investment relations between Turkey and Germany at a time when a global financial malady is severely affecting economies, Yildirim told news reporters with Ambassador Eckart Cuntz before the meeting.
"We need to think hard on how to craft a bond of solidarity between countries and we need to find a way out of the crisis," Yildirim said.
The German ambassador said on his part that German companies kept their a great interest in Turkey despite the global financial crisis.
"Yes, there is a global crisis but German companies are still very much interested in Turkey, with over 30 German companies newly launched in the last couple of months," Cuntz said.
