Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) jointly briefed President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, in Ankara on Thursday.
Arif Parmaksiz, member of executive board of TOBB, said in the meeting that TOBB's mission was to make the Turkish private sector be integrated into global economy. Parmaksiz said they were eager to boost commercial relations with Tanzania.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul paid a visit to Tanzania between February 20 and 23, 2009 and his visit was an indication that Turkey was resolute to improve its relations with this country, Parmaksiz said.
Turkish Airlines (THY) considered that it would launch direct flights to Tanzania within this year, he said.
Tanzania's President Kikwete was also informed about economic developments in Turkey in the meeting.
