Turkey's flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) increased the number of passengers by 8.4 percent to 4.9 million in the first three months of 2009 over the same period of last year, the company said on Tuesday.
In a stock market announcement, THY said that the number of passengers carried in the first three months of last year was 4.5 million.
THY also said that passenger occupancy rate fell 3.7 points to 66.1 percent.
