Two Turkish architects were awarded with the first prize in Urban Design Competition organized in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Turkish architects Sunay and Gunay Erdem got the award in the competition organized by Associated Icelandic Ports for the redevelopment of the Reykjavik Harbor in Iceland.

51 projects from 20 countries attended this masterplan competition organised by the primary land owner, Associated Icelandic Ports, to provide a strategic vision for the future development of the harbour area.

Turkish architect Sunay Erdem told A.A correspondent that the plan in their project was to extend green area till to the port with parks, which he called as "ecological corridor". He said all the newly formed social, cultural and commercial activities in the port would take place in the green area and all historical characteristics of the former port would be preserved.
