Turkish General Staff on Saturday sent an ambulance aircraft to Afghanistan to bring a policeman to Turkey who got sick there.

A statement posted on the General Staff's web-site stated that a policeman, assigned in Wardak region of Afghanistan, became ill on December 31, 2009 and was sent to a military hospital in Kabul after the first treatment.

"General Staff sent an ambulance aircraft to get the policeman after assessments that he needed further treatment. The policeman will be brought to Ankara on January 3, 2010," the statement said.
